Dr. Joseph A. Mareno, Jr. is a board certified surgeon   
who was raised in East Cobb, Georgia.  He graduated
of Medicine in 2003.

Dr. Mareno completed his general surgery residency at
the University of California San Diego Medical Center.  
There he was the recipient of the 2006 Halasz "Golden
Flea" award for Surgical Consultation presented by the
Department of Medicine in recognition of superior
performance as surgical consultant to the medical
Service.

Dr. Mareno completed his specialty fellowship in Colon
& Rectal Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Florida.

Dr. Mareno is a member of the American Society of
Colon & Rectal Surgery, the American College of
Surgeons and the Society of American Gastrointestinal
and Endoscopic Surgeons.  

Dr. Mareno is extensively trained in minimally invasive
surgery, including da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery,
laparoscopic assisted surgery, and transanal
endoscopic microsurgery (TEMS).
